to help Break the Silence on Ovarian Cancer

The National Ovarian Cancer Coalition is proud to announce the third annual "Run to Break the Silence on Ovarian Cancer" will be held on Saturday, September 25, 2010 in Sacramento.  The event is a 5K Run and Walk (with an expected attendance of approximately 2,000 particpants) is being held to highlight the month of September as Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month and to raise funds to further ovarian cancer education, awareness and research efforts.

Ovarian Cancer is an especially daunting enemy - known for its vague and difficult to diagnose symptoms, ovarian cancer strikes more than 25,000 women annually.  Unlike breast and cervical cancers, there is no reliable early detection test for ovarian cancer.  Unfortunately, 16,000 women will die of ovarian cancer this year because most cases are not diagnosed until the cancer is in the advanced stages.  But, when ovarian cancer is diagnosed early....there is a 90% survival rate.  Spreading the word, and helping to break the silence on ovarian cancer can help save women's lives.  Please join us today.

If you cannot attend the race, you can still participate and make a difference by donating today.  All donations are tax-deductible.
